Jonathan Mehring





Jonathan Mehring is an award-winning photographer based in Brooklyn, NY. 

In 2015 he released his book, Skate the World - Photographing One World of Skateboarding, published by National Geographic. His unique style of adventure travel coupled with action and lifestyle photography has taken him to over 30 countries around the globe. Some of these epic journeys include riding motorbikes through Vietnam, taking a riverboat up the Amazon, riding the Trans Siberian Railway, and road tripping through India, all with a skateboard by his side. 

Mehring earned a BFA in Photography from Virginia Commonwealth University. Relocating to NYC in 2003 he has since completed assignments for The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Huck Magazine, Thrasher Magazine, Skateboarder Magazine, Transworld Skateboarding, and Monster Children. He has exhibited his photographs at galleries in New York, Los Angeles, Paris, Sydney, Rotterdam, Köln, Honolulu, and Richmond, VA

Commercial Clients include Adidas, Levi's, Vans, Nike, Converse, RVCA, and Red Bull.

Though based in NYC, he often travels to LA or internationally for work.

April 2014: First solo photography show at the Ministry of Culture in La Paz, Bolivia

January 2013: Listed as one of ESPN’s Top 10 Most Influential People in Skateboarding

October 2011: Honorable Mention in the Photography Masters Cup International Color Awards for Americana and Sport

August 2009: 1st Place in the Rotterdam Grand Prix of Skateboarding International Photography Contest
